What That Major Halloween Kills Death Means For The Next Movie

Happy Halloween (Kills)Venir de Tragamonedas Gratis Online! The second installment of director David Gordon Green’s trilogy of Halloween movies is in theaters now and streaming on Peacock for you to fully enjoy. However, chances are you’re going to have some pretty big questions at the end of the film, as some things transpire that we definitely need to talk about.

Warning: The following contains spoilers for Halloween Kills. If you haven’t watched the movie yet, stop now and do that. As previously mentioned, it’s both in theaters and available to stream on Peacock. So it’s not a hard movie to track down.

The biggest question coming out of the movie is what happens now that Karen (Judy Greer) is dead. Yes, in the final moments of the film, Michael Myers kills Laurie’s (Jamie Lee Curtis) daughter, leaving us on the edge of our seats knowing that one of the three Strode women has been taken out of the equation.

It’s definitely the thing GameSpot was most curious about when we had the chance to speak to Green about the choice. Surprisingly, Karen’s death wasn’t always on the table for this movie.

“When we were engineering Halloween Kills, we didn’t know exactly where it was going,” the director said during a group interview. “We were kind of unraveling this community, unraveling the generations of Strode women, and then organically that happened.”

He continued, “My co-writers–Danny McBride and Scott Teems and I–when we got to the point of resolve, we’d kind of had this almost a climactic, cathartic moment with Judy Greer’s character. And violence at that point shifts to be almost abstract and the narrative gets more emotional than it does logical. And so before we knew it, Michael got the best of us and there we were.”

So what comes next? According to Green, it’s a jump forward in time. Speaking to GameSpot, he explained, “Our next chapter is four years in the future. And part of what we’re exploring is the different people [involved] having processed this trauma. If the first film is catching up with three generations of women being affected by the boogeyman, so to speak, then what happens after that the chaos of that Boogeyman has expanded to such a degree in the community. And then we jump time to see how that’s been processed, dealt with, handled emotionally, and physically by our heroes.”

Will the loss of her mother–in addition to her father in the first film–harden Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) or will it be her undoing? Given that Michael’s still out there and Laurie is going head-to-head with the killer in the next film, Halloween Ends, we’re guessing her granddaughter will be by her side.

That said, even if Halloween Ends is the final installment of the current trilogy of films, we aren’t expecting it to be the final time Michael Myers unleashes his signature brand of mayhem on the big screen.

Halloween Kills is in theaters and on Peacock now.
